Your Life is Right Now.
Welcome to my Monday Morning Message
Happy Monday everyone!
Confession time: this summer, I kept telling myself I’d get to the beach as soon as I got organized and finally cleared out the paperwork in my office.
Reasonable plan, I thought. It’s good to get caught up.
Well… I spent the entire summer trying to get organized.
Trips to the beach: zero.
Paperwork completely conquered: somehow, also zero.
I did make a dent, and that felt good, but nowhere near caught up.
Then I read this quote from Abraham Hicks:
“Your life is right now. It will always be right now. You might as well decide to start enjoying your life right now, because it’s not ever going to get better than right now — until it gets better right now!”
I realized I’d been waiting for a magical finish line. The day my inbox was empty and everything on my long list was checked off. Then I’d finally give myself permission to go to the beach and jump in the water.
But we all know that day never really comes. There’s always one more thing needing attention.
So I’m trying something different. A few days ago, friends invited me to dinner, and my first instinct was to say no thanks....too much to do.
Instead, I said yes. We laughed, we caught up, and I came home rejuvenated. My paperwork? Still sitting right where I left it. But I didn’t need it to be done to enjoy my night.
I still do the truly important things. I’ve just stopped waiting to finish everything before letting myself live a little.
Our lists will never be completely done. Our lives are still happening anyway.
So this week, if this sounds like you....let's all find some balance. Let's not wait for “done.” Our lives are happening right now. Let's enjoy them! See you at the beach!
Warmly, Colette
