BEFORE WE FIX ANYTHING....LETS PAUSE
Hello from Sunny California!
Welcome to my Monday Morning Message!
Dear Friends,
It’s December 28th, and I can already feel my mind sprinting ahead to January 1st.
You know the drill: I will give up sugar. I will work out every day. I will make zero mistakes. I will somehow get dramatically better at pickleball so I can finally beat my sister Cheryl.
My head starts spinning, so I pause. I take a deep breath. And I remember—I still have three whole days left in this year! Three days before I “have to” do anything. Three days to slow down.
So I decided to take stock of 2025—not to fix it, improve it, or optimize it—but to appreciate it.
When I do that, so many moments rise to the surface.
Big adventures. Small, ordinary moments. Simple things that were actually precious. Too many to count. Too meaningful to rush past.
My wish for you is this: before we all start giving things up and setting goals for 2026, perhaps take a little time to look back. Read through your journal. Scroll through your photos. Revisit a trip, a conversation, a moment that made you smile.
Luxuriate—just for a bit—in the joy of being alive. In the gift of people who love you. In all the ways life showed up for you this past year.
There will be plenty of time to set goals and give up sugar on January 1st. For now, let’s pause. Let’s savor. Let’s say thank you.
Thank you for being here!
With warmth, Colette
