- Shed before you Gallop
Welcome to my Monday Morning Message
It’s Sunday evening and I’m sitting at my desk, searching for something I hope people need to hear.
What keeps coming up? The Chinese Zodiac.
The transition from year of the Snake to year of the Fire Horse.
So… here we go again.
Why?
Because it’s time for me to shed my own hesitation about stepping more fully into my coaching business — and to release the negative self-talk that runs like a hamster on a wheel in my head.
And I have a feeling I’m not the only one with a hamster.
Today is the final day of the Year of the Snake.
Snakes don’t step into something new without first shedding what no longer fits. They don’t stretch the old skin.
They release it.
The Year of the Snake has asked us to look inward — to notice the habits, fears, and stories that cling longer than they should.
Before we rush ahead, pause.
What is the last thin layer you’re ready to shed?
The voice that says you’re behind. Too old. Too young. Not ready yet. A resentment you’re tired of carrying. A judgement you need to let go of.
Name it. Thank it. Let it go.
Shedding isn’t reaction. It’s a choice.
Tomorrow we step into the Year of the Fire Horse.
Energy. Momentum. Courage. Forward motion.
The Horse runs best when it isn’t dragging yesterday behind it.
So today, shed.
So tomorrow, you can Gallop — Lighter, Clearer, Braver.
New energy is coming.
Let’s meet it unburdened.
With warmth and appreciation,
Colette
