Monday Morning Message

Want to feel a little luckier this week?

Welcome to my Monday Morning Message

Good morning!

I was listening to a podcast with Dr. Tina Seelig, a Stanford neuroscientist about what actually makes someone Lucky.

I was so surprised by her answer that I had to write about it.

It's not chance.
It's not timing.
It's not being in the right place at the right time.

One of the biggest characteristics?

Generosity. Yup! That is what her research shows.

People who feel “lucky” tend to look at the world through the lens of:

How Can I Help?

They make warm and positive introductions.
They recommend others.
They notice what someone needs and they step in, even in small ways.

Why does it make them lucky? Because so few people actually do it.

And here’s what’s interesting about that....

Often, the person giving the help forgets they even did it.
But for the person receiving it, it can be meaningful.

A simple introduction.
A kind word.
A thoughtful recommendation.

Those small moments create connection.
And connection creates opportunity.

And opportunity starts to look a lot like luck.

So this week, try this:

Instead of asking “What do I need?”
Ask “Who can I help?”

Send that text Reach out.
Make that introduction.
Acknowledge someone.
Do one generous thing this week expecting nothing in return and see what unfolds.

Have a beautiful week,
Colette
